The Road to the White House 2024
The professor, who worked at the White House and who is a veteran of several presidential campaigns, will discuss topics such as the history of the presidential nominating process, the national conventions, presidential debates, and campaign strategy. Every 4 years, Dr. Scourfield McLauchlan takes her students to the first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire to see the presidential campaign process up close. Learn about the physically grueling pace that a campaign moves and what it takes to be elected to the highest office in the land from a veteran of several presidential campaigns. Dr. McLauchlan will share stories from the 2024 campaign trail and will close by sharing some methods political scientists have developed to predict presidential elections.
