Silver Springs and Paradise Park
As the oldest tourist attraction in Florida, Silver Springs is one of the state's defining experiences. Millions of people from all over the world have taken the famous glass bottom boat tours. But why is Silver Springs so famous? Why has Silver Springs survived when so many other old Florida attractions have not? This lecture will explore the park's natural and cultural history, including serving as a backdrop for numerous films, and the often-overlooked segregated section known as Paradise Park.
