Do's and Don'ts of Fiction Writing    NEW!

Even experienced writers struggle with how to make their works more readable, entertaining, and compelling to readers. Ron Cooper has published five books--four of them award-winning novels (one set in Marion County)--as well as poems, short stories, and essays. This session is intended to help the beginning writer to avoid common pitfalls, try different approaches to storytelling, consider how to plot a story,  and progress towards finding one's own voice. Examples of good and bad writing from famous writers (yes, even famous writers are often guilty of wretched work!) will be examined. Attendees will participate in exercises designed to provoke thought and be fun!
