ReadingPals: You Can Inspire Kindergarteners To Read   

You can make a difference in the life of a kindergartener just by being a ReadingPal. A program of United Way of Marion County supported by the Children’s Movement of Florida. Attend the ReadingPals training workshop where you will learn the mechanics of the program and how its steers the children along the route to a love of reading. 

Established in 2012 this program utilizes volunteers to provide supplemental literacy support to students identified as struggling readers. This session will give you the nuts and bolts to map out the development of a relationship between the student and the ReadingPal.

The in-school experience is extended to the home setting  as the books are souvenirs given to the student each week. The books have questions in the back to encourage conversations.

Since 2012, over 65,000 books have been provided to children in Marion County. Join the team to support these rookie readers to read today and lead tomorrow.
