Astronomy 103: Radiation and Spectra   

This course will take an in-depth look at the field of spectroscopy, the structure of the atom and the formation of spectral lines. Astronomical instruments will be discussed, including both visible light detectors and radio telescopes. Learn how astronomers analyze starlight using spectra to measure stellar radius, composition, and motion.

 

Note: It's recommended that students without any astronomy background should take Astronomy 101 and 102 prior to signing up for this course.
