Wines of Portugal

Portugal's dry table wines have long taken a back seat to their internationally sought after, fortified Port wines. In fact their table wines have made steady progress in quality while maintaining value based pricing. Portugal produces excellent value red and white wines. The use of regional grape varieties results in wines with unique character, that pair perfectly with food.  We'll explore a variety of Portuguese wines made in various regions throughout the country.

Note: Students must bring a wine glass to the class, and are encouraged to bring a pen or pencil and a notebook.

This course will include a tasting of up to 8 1.5-ounce tastings of various wines. All registered participants are fully aware alcohol will be distributed in the classroom for possible consumption and will accept full responsibility for transportation to and from the classroom.
