Intro to Metalsmithing   

In this intensive skills-based class, you will be introduced to many jewelry making techniques
and tools. Learn basic soldering that can be done with a simple kitchen creme brulee torch.
Meet the jeweler's saw, flex-shaft, and learn basic finishing techniques. Practice adding textures
to metals, forging with a hammer, as well as, learning the basic elements needed for successful
soldering. The emphasis will be on skills- building and safety in the studio.


This class requires a certain level of manual dexterity and hand strength. Please be aware of
any limitations you might have when signing up for class.


For safety: Please wear cotton clothing, no loose-fitting clothes. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be pulled back.
