Sketching the World in Living Color
Using colored pencils on paper to reproduce various images commonly seen all around us, participants will learn to observe the nuances of color, shape, and shadow. Then, they will learn the appropriate colored pencil selection and stroke making to achieve realistic images.
Some sketch experience with graphite or charcoal will be helpful but not required as this course moves from very simple forms to more complex compositions.
Note: All materials are provided by the instructor, except a 9x12 wire bound sketch pad brought weekly by the students. The instructor recommends Strathmore. A basic set of colored pencils will also be helpful.
