Cold-Connected Jewelry No Torch: Step 1

This is the first step in the process of learning to use mechanical connections to join metals and other materials. Use many of the same tools and techniques that traditional metalsmiths use. Learn various ways to join or capture materials that can’t withstand the heat of the torch. This class focuses on skills needed to create jewelry from
found objects: irregular stones, shells, even plastic.
A variety of mechanisms will be explored for capturing objects such as rivets, nuts and bolts, eyelets, washers, and tabs. This is a fun and fast paced class. Join us to explore the many possibilities available to you to create beautiful jewelry with memorabilia.
For safety: Please wear cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. No loose-fitting clothes. Long hair must be pulled back. Please be aware: This class requires a certain amount of manual dexterity and hand strength.
