Botanic Gardens: A World In Bloom
In this talk, Dr. Giovanni Aloi explores the history of botanic gardens in the West, focusing on key historical moments, new technological advancements, and not so known important roles these institutions played in the history of colonialism. The presentation focuses on the Kew Botanic Garden in London, The New York Botanical Garden, The Chicago Botanic Garden, and the now-lost botanic garden that until 1902 completed the West Wing of the White House.
