Spain is a country rich in art and culture, and through its long history, has left us a vast legacy of important works of art. Starting on the prehistoric world, the presentation will cover the evolution of art in Spain. Special attention will be devoted to the works of El Greco, Diego Velazquez, Zurburan, Murillo, Goya, Sorolla, Picaso, Dali, and cover some of the most important contemporary Spanish artists.
A main source of information for this lecture is found the book The Arts in Spain by John F. Moffitt, along with visits to different museums including El Prado, Dali museum Figueres and St Petersburg, Picasso and Miro museums in Barcelona, among others.
