Merlot vs Cabernet NEW!
The world's two top grapes; Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, share 1.5 million acres of plantings around the globe. Cabernet produces bold, robust, tannic wines, while Merlots are known for being softer, smoother, and more approachable. Their Ying and Yang make them perfect partners for blending, especially common in Bordeaux. This session will compare wines made with both grapes, as single varietals and in blended form. Oh, to choose...to choose!
Note: Students must 21 or older and bring a wine glass to the class.
This course will include a tasting of up to 9 1.5-ounce tastings of various wines. All registered participants are fully aware alcohol will be distributed in the classroom for possible consumption and will accept full responsibility for transportation to and from the classroom.
