Abe, a man with no formal education, had to hold the union together and lead it through its most troublesome internal period, the War Between the States. Mary, besides carrying the burden of running the mansion, was also suffering deep personal tragedies. The positive and negative qualities of both are shown in this 60 minute presentation. Mary's tragic life after Abe's death, which few are aware of, fills the final emotionally charged 7 minutes of the performance.
