A Modern Twist on an Ancient Brooch    NEW!

Create a stunning and versatile pin to wear using skills developed by the ancient Greeks and Romans. A look at Roman or Greek art, demonstrates how the fibula pin was used to fasten robes and cloaks. Artifacts from these eras show they varied in intricacy and materials.

There is no soldering involved in this process. Use one continuous wire to not only make a the distinctive and ornamental portion of your pin, but also to fashion the pin and catch. This simple design is elegant and functional and perfect for a scarf or sweater. Students will have a variety of metals available for this project. If you wish to create your pin in Sterling Silver, the instructor will have silver wire available to purchase at market value.

For safety: Please wear cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. No loose-fitting clothes. Long hair must be pulled back. Please be aware: This class requires a certain amount of manual dexterity and hand strength.
