This class is all about exploration and choices. Complete the Shadowbox Pendant or design and make your own creation. Hone your skills using the tools of the trade: hammers, jewelers’ saws, torches, and more. Develop your ability to pierce your metal using the jewelers’ saw, add color with patinas, and use tubes to add depth to various levels of your design. Continue your journey into metalsmithing guidance and instruction.

Advanced Metalsmithing is for returning students who have completed Introduction to Metalsmithing plus any Intermediate level class. Develop your skills using the tools of the trade: hammers, jewelers’ saws, torches, and more. You get to choose what you want to learn. Bring your own ideas and amaze yourself as you watch your skills flourish, all while working towards mastery of your tools. For students who prefer to work in precious metal, silver will be available for purchase at market value.

For safety: Please wear cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. No loose-fitting clothes. Long hair must be pulled back. Please be aware: This class requires a certain amount of manual dexterity and hand strength. Prerequisites: Introduction to Metalsmithing and at least one Intermediate level metals’ class.
