Intermediate Metalsmithing: Mixed Metal Ring    NEW!

This class is for students who have completed the Introduction to Metalsmithing class. In this class, students will use a jewelers’ saw, to saw their ring band, add textures and contrasting metal embellishments. Learn the ins and outs of soldering various metals together. There is something so beautiful about the marriage of two different kinds of metals.

First of all, there is the contrasting colors of the metals. In addition, each metal accepts patinas differently, which opens so many possibilities. Learning how to control your flame and maximizie the different melting points of metals will grow your skill set. 

For safety: Please wear cotton clothing and closed-toe shoes. No loose-fitting clothes. Long hair must be pulled back. Please be aware: This class requires a certain amount of manual dexterity and hand strength.
