This class is designed for advanced art students. Explore the art of structured pattern drawing to create a one-of-a-kind, intricate heart design. Using a fine-tip black Sharpie, you'll develop a richly detailed composition filled with repetitive motifs, then embellish it with a striking red inner heart. Fine sketch paper, an acid-free 12x12 mat, and backing are included. Markers for use during class will be provided.
Experience a meditative approach to drawing through the fusion of structured patterns and spontaneous design. In this beginner-friendly course, students will explore the fundamentals of creating three basic tessellation patterns (inspired by M.C. Escher) and enhance them with expressive, free-form pattern work. No prior drawing experience is necessary.
Supply list: 1 sheet of card stock, ruler, pencil, 9”x12” or 12”x18” drawing paper pad, fine point and extra fine point Sharpies, and clear or masking tape.
