Drawing Buildings for Beginners NEW!

Anyone can draw buildings. You will learn (or refresh previous learning) basic techniques for drawing buildings to give the illusion of depth on a flat surface. This is called linear perspective which can be grasped easily - especially by those who think they cannot draw. Supplies to bring to class: 12"x18" drawing paper or pad, 18" ruler, white eraser, No.2 pencil.

Advanced Black and White Heart Design

This class is designed for advanced art students. Explore the art of structured pattern drawing to create a one-of-a-kind, intricate heart design. Using a fine-tip black Sharpie, you'll develop a richly detailed composition filled with repetitive motifs, then embellish it with a striking red inner heart. Fine sketch paper, an acid-free 12x12 mat, and backing are included. Markers for use during class will be provided.

Experience a meditative approach to drawing through the fusion of structured patterns and spontaneous design. In this beginner-friendly course, students will explore the fundamentals of creating three basic tessellation patterns (inspired by M.C. Escher) and enhance them with expressive, free-form pattern work. No prior drawing experience is necessary.

Supply list: 1 sheet of card stock, ruler, pencil, 9”x12” or 12”x18” drawing paper pad, fine point and extra fine point Sharpies, and clear or masking tape.

Drawing Advanced: Pen & Ink

Students will become familiar with the technical pen (Micron, Staedtler, or similar) filled with India black ink. They will learn technical pen techniques to create their own monochromatic art from provided references. Note: Pencil skills are required. Students need to bring a set of black technical/felt pens .05, .1, .2, 03, 05 (Micron, Staedtler, or smilary to class. Bristol papers are preferred, but a regular sketch paper 11 x 14 is fine to bring to class also.
