The Tree of Life is a powerful symbol of family, renewal and growth. In this course the student will learn the skills needed to complete a wire wrapped Tree of Life with gemstone "leaves." We will also discuss how to utilize these same skills to create larger pieces suitable for hanging. This piece can be completed within 2 hours. Because supplies such as pliers and nippers are expensive, the instructor will supply. She will supply the wire gemstones, as well as where these items can be purchased. Participants will complete the Tree of Life and be able to wear their pendants home. Note: There is a $10 supply fee payable to the instructor the day of class.
Open Studio time is for students who are proficient with soldering with a microtorch and are able to work independently. Instructor approval is needed. No instruction will be provided by the teacher during Open Studio sessions. This is an opportunity for students to continue to explore specific techniques, master skills, or complete projects. The instructor will be available for guidance and oversight. Students will have access to all tools and supplies. Metals will be available for purchase at market price or student can bring their own materials and metals.
Note: For safety, please wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes, no loose fitting clothing. Long hair must be pulled back.
In this three-hour class, create 2 pairs of earrings that will incorporate a variety of metals including: sterling, copper, anodized niobium, along with various colorful beads. These earrings are lightweight, colorful, funky and super fun to wear.

In this 2-day workshop, students will create beautiful pieces of jewelry in amazing colors using electricity and an ionic bath. This process can easily be accomplished at home by students after class. Niobium is a reactive metal which allows you to create a beautiful oxide layer on its surface creating a rainbow of colors. It can be formed and shaped using simple tools. It is Hypoallergenic and is a perfect material for anyone who has metal sensitivities. Each student will be furnished with enough material to create several pairs of earrings or 1-2 pendants. Students should bring 10 (ten) 9-V batteries. These will be necessary for the anodizing process. Instructor will provide all other supplies and materials for a $25 materials fee.
Day One: Conceptualize then form and finish each piece. This is when the surfaces will be texturized, edges filed and sanded, and dimension will be created. All finishing must be completed before anodizing. Day Two: Create all necessary findings and connections. Finally, using electricity, anodize your pieces in the colors you choose.

Create a beautiful wire wrapped cabochon pendant. We will cover basic wire wrapping techniques. The skills you will acquire with this project can be used for a variety of different size/shaped stones making for endless possibilities. Materials fee of $30 includes cabochon, 21 gauge square wire, and 22 gauge half round wire If you have flat nose and round nose pliers please bring to class.

In this 4-hour class, students will learn how to create these fun and stunning dangle earrings. Students will have enough silver to create 2 pairs of earrings and ear wires as well as a variety of silver, glass and crystal beads. A variety of stones, glass and metal beads will be available to embellish the earrings created. Students will also learn how to create their own ear wires.
