Intermediate Metalsmithing: Let's Make Spinner Rings

Spinner rings are truly fun and beautiful. They are the ultimate fidget toy and in this class you will learn how to make your own. This is an Intermediate level class and it is open to students who have completed Introduction to Metalsmithing.

Students will learn how to fashion their flat, wide band from sheet metal that they can texturize and modify. They will then use various wires to make the spinning bands  that are the perfect fit so that they will spin freely. Finally, students will learn how to capture the inner wires! With just the flick of your finger, these bands will sing as they spin round and round. Spinner rings are the ultimate de-stressor and a perfect fashion statement.

Note: Please be aware that this class requires a certain amount of hand strength and manual dexterity. It is important to know your limitations.
For safety reasons: Please wear cotton clothing only and nothing loose fitting.  Long hair MUST be tied up.  Please wear closed-toed shoes.
