Learning/using basic Papier Mache sculptural techniques, we will explore the wondrous worlds of jellyfish and swans as we create Papier Mache representations of these two graceful creatures. No experience is required for this art and craft course of making something beautiful from a rather messy start.
Students need to bring to class:
-9" balloon
-a 6 ounce tube of white glue
-a roll of aluminum foil (not heavy duty)
-a roll of 1/2" masking tape
-(optional) assorted colors of tissue paper
Prior experience in the art of paper folding is not required. In this course we will learn how math counts when folding a 2-D piece of paper into 3-D geometric form. We will develop eye/hand/memory skills in this one of a kind opportunity to appreciate these artistic Japanese/Chinese paper folding techniques in a group setting.
Acrylic painting on printed parchment paper is a newer art form. There is no sketching or drawing as a traceable pattern is provided along with the use of all supplies needed for this class.
