Learn why "keeping your eye on the ball" is only half true. During this class, you will have an opportunity to practice visualization techniques. Not surprisingly, there is more to your vision than 20/20!

Concussion, Stroke and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation

Image of brain in bandagesHave you or a loved one been affected by a stroke or brain injury? Approximately two million Americans suffer stroke or brain injury every year. They often experience difficulty with motion, reading, concentration and balance. These skills are all heavily influenced by the visual system. This course will review the symptoms of the visual disorders associated with stroke and brain injury. You will learn how neuro-optometric rehabilitation can improve the daily living activities of these patients.

Hearing Loss 101

Hearing loss is a disease affecting 33% of Americans over 60.  This class discusses the causes and symptoms of hearing loss, the effects of untreated hearing loss (e.g. cognitive decline, falls, and depression), plus ways of addressing said loss.  Lastly, we demystify the process of where/when to go for testing/treatment, what interventions are appropriate, and how to select a hearing aid.
