Watercolor batik is a fascinating painting technique that combines ink, watercolor paint and melted wax on rice paper to create a stunning batik design. Teri will walk students through each step of this exciting process; inking the deign on paper, painting the design, waxing over the painted design, then ironing over it to remove and reveal the batik design.
Students will have lots of designs to choose from and will go home with a practice piece AND a finished 8x10 painting. No experience or supplies required, just bring an apron, and LOTS of old newspapers.?

Join us as we explore the underwater world of our local springs! Using chalk pastels, participants will blend a palette of colors to create different colored sheets. We will then cut and collage them into a unique underwater scene with Florida wildlife like manatees and turtles. No artistic experience needed.
