Watercolor   

There is no prerequisite for this class. Each week, students will paint a different subject using a variety of watercolor techniques. Arches paper will be provided. Students may bring their own watercolors, or a kit may be purchased from the instructor the first day of class.

Students will use watercolor pencils and white gel pens on a mixed media spiral-bound tablet to create flowing splashes of color. The images will be teased out with water and brushes then defined using the gel pens. This is an extremely creative process calling on the student's imagination with endless possibilities!!

Note: No previous experience needed. The instructor will provide brushes and water containers. The student will need the following materials:
A set of at lease 24 watercolor pencils
A mixed media spiral bound tablet (9x12)
3 White gel pens
An easel to support the tablet (if you have one)

Artist Tina Carchia uses ink to bring out all of the details and then goes over it with watercolors to add in the color and shading. Watercolor is a quick drying paint. Tina will take you at an easy to follow pace, all the way through to a completed project in only four hours!

There's no sketching or drawing as a traceable pattern is provided along with the use of all supplies and 11X14 mat included. Please see the website to view all project images.
