Whisky maturation by distillery offers an opportunity to appreciate the changes in flavor associated with the aging process. Scotland’s environment, or terroir, contributes its unique characteristics to single malt scotch. To appreciate the diversity of Scotland’s environment requires tasting single malts from different regions.
