Kyudo is now a zen practice that places emphasis on correct form, etiquette, and beauty. It is a meditative way to improve full body strength, posture, stability, and focus. After a brief history and demonstration of Kyudo movement and shooting, students will learn the basic postures and how to shoot.

Join living historian Andy Warrener of the Fort King Heritage Foundation for an immersive, hands-on introduction to traditional fire-starting methods. Learn how to spark a flame using flint and steel, make your own char cloth and tinder "bird nests," and take home a fire-starting kit you build yourself. The class also includes a demonstration and instruction on the bow drill technique- an ancient and powerful method of creating fire through friction.

This basic/intermediate class will teach students how to get more out of their DSLR and Mirrorless camera. They will learn how to navigate their camera settings, functions, and access other menus that will help improve their photographic skills. Let’s have some fun.
Note: Students are required to bring their DSLR or Mirrorless cameras with charged batteries for some hands-on time during each of the classes. If you own a tripod, please pack that as well. We will be taking photos throughout the class as we navigate the camera settings.
