The Living Art of Bonsai

Learn the unique, living, and ever-changing art of bonsai with David VanBuskirk, owner of D&L Bonsai Nursery.   A bonsai is not created in a single day.  It requires years of constant care and patience.  The process of bonsai creation involves effort, but the sense of satisfaction and joy you derive from the process is long-lasting.  Through proper training and cultivation, you will be able to create a beautiful work of art as natural as nature itself.

Forest Bathing

The sounds of the forest, the scent of flowers, the wind playing through the leaves, the feel of water in a stream – these experiences act as a balm for our busy lives. The key is to leave behind the stress of your daily life and inspire your curiosity, your awareness, and re-sensitize your senses to the natural world around you, all the while receiving nature’s many health benefits.  Discover a deeper, more conscious relationship with nature through the practice of sound bathing with Ida Covi, an ecopsychologist, and the CEO of iRewild Institute.  Learn to experience the world differently.

Nature and Art at the Park

Explore the beauty, wonder, and creativity of nature and art at Sholom Park.   Larry Pappas, the vice-chairman of iRewild Institute, will guide you along this creative process using materials found in nature to create a unique and expressive piece of art.  You do not have to be an artist. Allow nature to inspire the artist in you with fallen leaves, pinecones, and twigs.  You will leave with a greater appreciation for the profound beauty of nature and the power of artistic expression.
